Starbreeze, the developers behind the popular heist game *Payday 2*, have just unveiled a brand-new subscription service aimed at giving players unparalleled access to a wealth of additional content. Dubbed the ‘Payday 2: Subscription,’ this service bundles over 65 DLC packs, featuring everything from thrilling new heists and potent weapons to a wide array of cosmetic items.
Players can jump into this extensive collection for a flexible fee of $5 per month. For those looking for a better deal, a six-month option is available at $20, offering a significant 33% savings compared to the monthly rate. It’s important to note that while this subscription provides incredible value, individual DLC packs will still be available for purchase, ensuring players retain full flexibility in how they choose to expand their game.
According to Gustav Nisser, the head of Starbreeze, this initiative aims to “give players greater flexibility in how they experience the game.” Currently, the subscription is exclusively available on Steam.
*Payday 2*, which originally debuted in 2013, has maintained a strong player base over the years. Its 2023 successor, *Payday 3*, faced considerable server issues upon launch and received ‘Mixed’ reviews on Steam, a stark contrast to the ‘Very Positive’ reception of its older sibling. Interestingly, *Payday 2* continues to draw thousands more daily players than *Payday 3*, indicating its enduring appeal among fans of the franchise.
