After weeks of anticipation, the mysterious monolith on the Fortnite Battle Royale island has finally revealed its secret: a massive new Daft Punk event set to kick off this Friday, September 27th! This won’t be a typical live concert requiring specific timing; instead, players can dive into an immersive “experience” that interactively explores Daft Punk’s legendary music, reminiscent of previous Soundwave Series events.

Beyond the interactive musical journey, the item shop will introduce an exclusive Daft Punk bundle on September 25th. This collection features a pair of distinctive skins with multiple style options that react dynamically to in-game music. The bundle’s cosmetics also include a unique double-neck guitar-and-bass instrument, alongside emotes for “Around the World” and “Get Lucky,” plus a jam track for “Get Lucky.” Additionally, three more Daft Punk jam tracks are being added: “Instant Crush” featuring Julian Casablancas, and The Weeknd’s “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming,” both of which incorporate Daft Punk’s iconic sound.

In an exciting twist, this music collaboration also features a significant Lego component. The shop will stock a variety of Daft Punk-inspired Lego sets, including a striking large pyramid that pulsates with light in sync with nearby music.
Epic Games, in their official announcement, clarified that this event is a heartfelt tribute to Daft Punk’s incredible music catalog, not an indication of a reunion for the duo, who disbanded in 2021. So, while you can immerse yourself in their classics, don’t hold your breath for any new tracks.
Interestingly, The Weeknd appears to play a prominent role in this event. He recently teased the collaboration on his social media, and two of the new jam tracks this week highlight his vocal talents. While it’s possible The Weeknd might receive his fourth Fortnite skin as part of this celebration, no such announcements have been made yet.
