Leading AI firm Anthropic and global consulting and IT services company Infosys have officially announced a significant partnership, unveiled during India’s inaugural AI Impact Summit. This strategic alliance aims to collaboratively develop and deploy sophisticated artificial intelligence solutions tailored for enterprise clients.
A key focus of this collaboration will be the creation of advanced “agentic” tools and AI agents. These innovative technologies are designed to transform traditional enterprise systems, evolving them into modern, AI-first operational frameworks. This announcement closely follows Anthropic’s recent expansion into India, with the opening of its first Indian office in Bengaluru just the day before.
Anthropic and Infosys: Pioneering Enterprise AI Agents Together
Both Anthropic and Infosys shared details of this new venture through their respective news channels. This marks one of Anthropic’s initial major partnerships within India, highlighting the country’s growing importance in the global AI landscape. The agreement outlines the joint development and delivery of enterprise AI solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, and software development.
Initially, the partnership will concentrate on the telecommunications industry. To facilitate this, a dedicated Anthropic Centre of Excellence will be established, tasked with implementing AI agents specifically designed for industry-specific operational needs. Following this foundational phase, the collaboration is set to broaden its scope, extending its innovative solutions to other key industries such as financial services, manufacturing, and various facets of software development.
Dario Amodei, CEO and co-founder of Anthropic, emphasized the critical need for specialized knowledge in deploying AI: “There’s a substantial gap between an AI model that performs well in a demonstration and one that operates effectively within a highly regulated industry. To bridge this gap, domain expertise is essential. Infosys possesses precisely this kind of expertise across crucial sectors like telecom, financial services, and manufacturing. Their developers are already leveraging Claude Code to enhance their work and build AI agents for industries that demand accuracy, compliance, and deep industry understanding.”
Furthermore, the partnership will integrate Anthropic’s powerful Claude AI models, including Claude Code, with Infosys Topaz. Infosys Topaz is an existing AI-powered platform specifically designed for building enterprise solutions. The core emphasis remains on AI agents, which will be powered by robust tools like the Claude Agent SDK. These agentic tools are expected to empower organizations to effectively modernize their legacy systems, as affirmed by both collaborating companies.
Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer of Infosys, articulated the vision for the partnership: “From revolutionizing financial services with intelligent risk management and enhanced compliance, to empowering engineering businesses to innovate with AI-driven design and manufacturing, our collective goal is to harness the combined expertise of Infosys and Anthropic. This will accelerate the realization of AI’s transformative value for global enterprises.”
