Get ready, gamers! Sony is bringing back its highly anticipated State of Play broadcast this week, packed with fresh updates and exciting new trailers for titles from both its own studios and third-party developers. Following earlier rumors, the event is officially set for February 12th. While specific game details are still under wraps, excitement is building for what’s to come.
Sony officially confirmed in a PlayStation Blog announcement on Monday that the State of Play broadcast will air on Thursday, February 12th, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 11 PM CEST (which is February 13th at 3:30 AM IST for viewers in India). You can catch all the action live on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
This upcoming livestream is expected to run for over 60 minutes, making it one of the longest State of Play events ever. This extended runtime suggests a wealth of new information, gameplay reveals, and announcements from various game studios worldwide.
Sony revealed that this February’s State of Play will highlight captivating third-party and indie games slated for PlayStation 5, alongside updates directly from PlayStation Studios.
What to Expect from This State of Play Event
For first-party titles, we anticipate seeing Housemarque’s intense bullet-hell action game, Saros, during the broadcast. This PlayStation 5 exclusive is currently scheduled for an April 30th launch.
There’s also a strong possibility of an update on Marathon, which is launching on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series S/X on March 5th. Developer Bungie might use this event to announce dates for a pre-launch open playtest weekend.
Fans might also get a firm release date for Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac Games last provided an update on this action-adventure title at the September 2025 State of Play, with a current launch window aimed for fall 2026.
However, it’s probably too optimistic to anticipate more from Naughty Dog on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. This project hasn’t seen any updates since the Sony-owned studio unveiled it at The Game Awards 2024.
Another key first-party studio, Santa Monica, known for the God of War series, has yet to share new details. Rumors suggest they are working on remasters of earlier titles, a new game from 2018’s God of War director Cory Barlog, and potentially the next installment in the popular franchise.
Beyond PlayStation’s own offerings, several anticipated third-party games like Crimson Desert, Resident Evil Requiem, and 007 First Light could also appear. While there are whispers of Capcom unveiling a new Devil May Cry and Square Enix announcing Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, it’s wise to approach these with caution.
Finally, there are ongoing rumors that Bethesda’s Starfield might eventually come to PlayStation 5 later this year, and an official announcement during the State of Play could potentially confirm this.
