The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 Session 1 registration is now officially open! The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched the application process for what is considered one of India’s most competitive engineering entrance exams, leading into the 2026–27 academic year. You can submit your online applications from October 31 until November 27, 2025, with fee payments accepted up to 11:50 PM on the closing day.

Managed by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, JEE Main acts as the crucial initial step for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate engineering (B.E. and B.Tech) degrees.   • Visit the official NTA JEE website.
  • Locate and click on the ‘JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration’ link.
  • Fill out the registration form with all your personal and academic information.
  • Use the credentials provided after registration to log in.
  • Complete the detailed application form and upload all necessary documents.
  • Proceed to pay the application fee using a credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • Finally, download your confirmation page and remember to keep a printed copy for future reference.

Understanding the JEE Main 2026 Paper Structure

The JEE Main 2026 examination is divided into two distinct papers:

  • Paper 1: This paper is designed for aspiring students seeking admission to B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) and B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) programs offered at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). Excelling in Paper 1 is also a prerequisite for qualifying for JEE Advanced.
  • Paper 2: This paper caters to candidates interested in B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) and B.Planning (Bachelor of Planning) programs across various Indian universities and institutes.

  • Physics: Expect topics such as Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electricity & Magnetism, Optics, and Modern Physics.

  • Mathematics: Key areas include Algebra, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, and Probability.

  • Each correct answer will earn you +4 marks.
  • An incorrect response will result in a deduction of -1 mark.
  • There will be no negative marking for questions that are left unattempted.

This marking system applies uniformly to both Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value Questions (NVQs) throughout the examination.
