Actress Tamannaah Bhatia recently highlighted a significant shift in the film industry’s portrayal of women, particularly those in their 30s. She expressed optimism about the growing trend of celebrating age and experience on screen, a sentiment that resonates with her own career trajectory.
Tamannaah Bhatia’s Career Vision
Reflecting on her journey in an interview with Filmfare, Bhatia revealed that she had a clear ’10-year plan’ when she first entered the industry. Initially, she envisioned her career peaking in her early thirties, followed by a focus on family. However, she found that her late twenties marked a period of significant personal and professional growth, coinciding with the industry’s increasing willingness to write richer, more nuanced roles for women in this age bracket.
“The good part was that while I was working and I was in my late twenties, I actually really came into my own then,” Bhatia shared. “And by then, fortunately, the industry had really started writing juicy parts. And I think it’s a general shift that’s happened all over the world. I don’t know what this fear of age is, though. A lot of people just talk about ageing like it’s some disease. Ageing is so awesome. But I don’t know why people are so scared of ageing.”
Upcoming Projects
Looking ahead, Tamannaah Bhatia has an exciting lineup of projects. She is set to star alongside Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bhardwaj’s action thriller ‘O’ Romeo,’ a gangster drama anticipated for late 2025 or early 2026. The film will also feature Triptii Dimri.
Additionally, Bhatia will be seen opposite Sidharth Malhotra in ‘Vvan—Force of the Forest,’ a mythological/folk thriller slated for a May 2026 release. Filming is expected to commence in June 2025.
Rumors also suggest Bhatia’s involvement in a biopic-style action film within Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe, where she might portray the wife of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. There’s also speculation about her joining Anees Bazmee’s comedy sequel ‘No Entry 2,’ starring Varun Dhawan.
