It’s been three years since the epic release of God of War: Ragnarok, and eager fans are already wondering what comes next for the beloved franchise. While Sony has remained tight-lipped about any potential follow-up, it seems highly probable that another installment is on the horizon. And if it is, Christopher Judge, the formidable voice behind Kratos, has a very specific idea for its setting: Egypt.
Judge, who gained widespread recognition for his role as Teal’c in Stargate SG-1, has lent his powerful voice to Kratos since the 2018 God of War reboot. The initial games famously pitted Kratos against the Greek pantheon, while the most recent two sagas saw him battling the Norse gods. Now, for the series’ potential next chapter, Judge shared his interest in revisiting the Egyptian mythology he previously explored in Stargate.
“To go to Egypt would be a completion of my circle, because I became best known as Teal’c from Stargate,” Judge remarked during a recent appearance at MCM London Comic Con (as reported by GamesRadar). He added, with a touch of playful anticipation, “But whatever is decided—wait… if there is another game, I have no doubt that no matter what pantheon it is, it will be great.”
While rumors have circulated about a God of War side-story set in Greece, that particular project was reportedly pushed back to 2026. Cory Barlog, director of the God of War series, has offered hints about his new game from Sony Santa Monica, but has yet to confirm whether it’s another title within the popular franchise.
Meanwhile, the world of God of War is also expanding into television, with Amazon Prime Video actively developing a live-action series. Casting for the major roles, however, remains unannounced.
