Blue’s Lee Ryan on India Tour: Fans Made ‘One Love’ Viral Again, Dream of Riding a Motorcycle Across India

The iconic UK boy band Blue is celebrating 25 years of hits and nostalgia with a global tour, and lead singer Lee Ryan has a special wish this year: to explore India. “I would love to get on a motorbike and travel around India and write a journal of my adventures,” Ryan revealed in an exclusive email interview ahead of the band’s highly anticipated three-city tour in India. The group, consisting of Lee Ryan, Antony Costa, Duncan James, and Simon Webbe, will be performing in Shillong, Gangtok, and Bengaluru as part of their milestone anniversary celebrations.

Ryan expressed the band’s palpable excitement for their upcoming shows, especially after previous cancellations. “We are so happy to be finally coming to India. It’s been a busy few years for Blue, but we want to make this happen,” he stated. He specifically credited the Indian fanbase for the recent resurgence of their hit song ‘One Love.’ “We were on our Greatest Hits tour in 2024 when we found out about One Love going viral globally – and that was all down to the Indian fans celebrating that song, so we are very grateful,” Ryan shared.

Fans can anticipate a “musical celebration” at the concerts, with Blue performing all their chart-topping hits. “We’ve seen a lot of dancing online – to One Love of course – many different dances! So we fully expect the audience to be full of energy and can’t wait to see it,” Ryan added, noting how social media has connected them with a new generation of fans.

Reflecting on their quarter-century career, Ryan highlighted the special feeling of still being able to tour the world. “There are so many things to be grateful for as a band – but one of the best has to be that we got to tour the world, from day one when All Rise came out. We’ve seen some incredible places, so we feel very blessed to be able to do it all again and probably take more time to appreciate it as well now,” he said. The band is thrilled to be connecting with a new generation of listeners, many of whom discovered Blue’s music through streaming platforms or their parents’ playlists. “We’ve seen a whole new generation enjoying our songs. That’s amazing to see,” Ryan concluded.
