Your first opportunity for infiltration lies to the west of the Vox Relay, through a treacherous area shrouded in poisonous gas. To survive this route, you’ll need a specialized shield, obtainable from Delphinia at the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center, located south of Westport. This shield is acquired during “The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals” side quest, and you’ll complete “An Aegis Against The Miasma” there to earn it.
Once shielded and past the gas, two paths emerge. To the left, you can enter the Skycutter Tower, which we’ll cover in more detail as the recommended approach. Alternatively, follow the road to the right, leading directly to the Relay’s main entrance, where Sentry Second Class Lehman stands guard. Once past the initial Weintraut guard, you’ll face the same main gate as if you took the gas route. However, there’s a specific method to convince Sentry Second Class Lehman to grant you entry without a fight.
This requires completing both “The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals” and “For Whom The Bridge Tolls.” Finishing “The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals” will earn you a writ from Vigilant Hogarth in Westport. To access the ARC, journey to the Ministry of Accuracy. There, alongside Inez, you’ll locate the Sanitized Records and Distribution Terminal, which allows you to print the essential Euphoria ARC Pass.
Once inside the ARC, undertake “An Aegis Against The Miasma” to acquire the necessary shield. This shield will be crucial as you navigate through the facility to reach the terminal. Here, you can override safety protocols and shut down the repair center. Whether you choose a stealthy approach or a more direct one, completing this objective will satisfy Kaur.
Return to Kaur, and she’ll assign you a new mission: “Ascent In The Howling Tower.” Your goal is to overload the Vox Relay’s external defenses by initiating a power surge within the Skycutter Tower.
Equipped with your shield, head north across the island to bypass another dangerous zyranium zone, gaining access to Skycutter Tower. Inside, you’ll need to retrieve the Skycutter Entrance Key from Warden Captain Beauregard’s fallen body, found near two Raptidon Hunters at the foot of the stairs. This key grants full access to the tower. Ascend through the levels, neutralizing all resistance until you reach the summit. Use the Control Panel Schematics there to complete this critical side quest.
With the Vox Relay’s defenses neutralized, you can now proceed directly from Skycutter Tower to the Relay. While a forceful entry is an option, be prepared for a confrontation with Marshal Corbin. Defeating Montelli
Your journey inside the Vox Relay culminates in a boss battle against Montelli. While the fight itself is manageable, employing a smart strategy will make it much easier. Start by positioning yourself at the back of the arena, using the available barriers for cover as you engage him from a distance.
When Montelli activates the electrified walkways, seize the opportunity to close the gap. Drop down and confront him in close-quarters combat. By this point, his health should be significantly depleted, allowing you to swiftly finish him off.
‘The Saboteur of Paradise’ Outcomes and Saving Fairfield
With Montelli defeated, your next step is De Vries’ secret room. Here, you’ll determine the fate of the Vox Relay. If you need it, the terminal code for De Vries’ console is 15-778, information you could have acquired from Savannah Lockwood earlier on Eden.
You’ll be presented with several critical choices, each leading to vastly different consequences:
- Destroy the Vox Relay: This option causes the Relay to crash directly into Fairfield, resulting in widespread casualties. This choice will anger Inez, causing her to leave your party in a later scene before you depart for the next planet.
- Redirect to Westport: You can use the terminal to send the Relay to Westport. This is an ideal outcome if you’ve completed “The Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice” quest and successfully relocated everyone to Fairfield, ensuring their safety.
- “Hit it and see what happens”: This mysterious option requires a high Luck trait to succeed, and its exact effects are not clearly defined. Proceed with caution.
- Send to Space (Hack 4 required): If you possess a Hack skill of 4 or higher, you can choose to launch the Relay into space, ensuring the safety of all settlements.
The most favorable outcome is to send the Relay into space, if possible, or any other option that safeguards as many lives as you can.
