Forget another throwback mini-season in Fortnite for a moment! While Fortnite OG is here to stay as a permanent mode, the buzz since May has been all about an exciting new collaboration. Following in the footsteps of the popular Star Wars season, it looks like Springfield’s most famous family, The Simpsons, are set to take center stage in their very own mini-season!
Given Epic Games’ strong relationship with Disney and their history of teaming up with beloved animated shows – including three Fox cartoon dads earlier this year and Beavis and Butthead in September – this rumor feels incredibly solid. In fact, there’s been almost no doubt about it, and with so many leaks, it’s practically confirmed. Let’s dive into all the juicy details!
When Will The Simpsons Mini-Season Begin?
According to the latest season update schedule, Chapter 6 Season 4 is expected to conclude on Saturday, November 1st. This typically means a grand live finale event will wrap things up during the day. If past events are any indication, like the Death Star Sabotage in June, we can expect the new Simpsons mini-season to kick off on the evening of November 1st, after a 4-7 hour maintenance period. Otherwise, it will likely start the following morning on November 2nd.
Has The Simpsons Mini-Season Been Officially Confirmed?
While an official announcement hasn’t been made directly by Epic Games, the evidence is overwhelming. All the information about this rumored Simpsons season has come from dedicated leakers and dataminers. Initially, it was just written descriptions, but with the October 9th game update, the iconic Kang and Kodos UFO glider was discovered unencrypted within the game files. Its description humorously states: “Can you believe it Kodos? They left us out of the Battle Pass.” Dataminers also suggest that leading up to the new season, this UFO might even spawn next to the battle bus in Battle Royale matches, serving as an unofficial pre-announcement.
And if that wasn’t enough, on October 24th, the key art for the season was leaked, leaving little to the imagination!
What Can We Expect from The Simpsons Season?
Just like the Star Wars-themed season in May, we’re looking at a five-week event, wrapping up in early December, complete with a slightly smaller-than-usual Battle Pass featuring five unique skins. Rumor has it that the Battle Pass will include fan-favorites like Ned Flanders, Homer and Marge Simpson, and even Simpsons-inspired versions of Peely and Fishstick. The leaked key art also strongly suggests that Bart Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Moe, and Krusty the Clown will be available as purchasable skins in the item shop. Interestingly, Lisa and Bart are rumored to appear in mech suits, similar to Mecha-Morty, as they are children.
Perhaps the most exciting and surprising rumor is the possibility of an entire map based on The Simpsons’ hometown of Springfield! While earlier claims suggested it would be the size of a ‘Reload’ map and support only 40 players, a more recent leak still points to a full Simpsons-themed and potentially cel-shaded map, but without any mention of size restrictions.
Regarding gameplay additions, the leaked key art hints at Homer’s remote control becoming a usable in-game item, and junk rifts might even drop giant donuts during this season! While specific details on new items are scarce, it’s clear The Simpsons will bring its unique flavor to Fortnite, though perhaps not with a complete overhaul of the loot pool like the Star Wars event.
