The rumors are true! Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is making its way to Nintendo Switch 2, with a confirmed launch date of December 2, 2025. This highly anticipated action-adventure title will deliver the full experience to Switch players, complete with a host of exciting features and post-launch content.
Following numerous leaks over the past few months, Ubisoft delighted fans by unveiling the Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows with a dedicated gameplay trailer.
The Switch 2 edition will include all recent post-launch updates and free content releases, though the “Claws of Awaji” expansion is scheduled for a 2026 arrival. Players can also look forward to seamless cross-progression via Ubisoft Connect and innovative touch screen functionalities across various in-game menus, including the world map, store, and hideout.
Unveiling the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Fall Roadmap
Ubisoft also shared an exciting fall post-launch roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising plenty of new content for players.
Title Update 10: Enhanced Parkour and Corrupted Castles (October 28)
Set to arrive on October 28, Title Update 10 introduces the game’s second major parkour overhaul. This update will include an “advanced parkour” toggle, empowering players with the ability to perform side and back ejects from any height. Furthermore, it brings refined side ejects during downward parkour movements, an expanded vertical ledge grab, and a new directional ledge grab mechanic for more fluid traversal.
Beyond movement enhancements, Title Update 10 will also unleash “corrupted castles.” These allow players to revisit and conquer previously completed castles, now featuring fresh Animus anomalies, challenging bosses, and unique rewards.
Title Update 11: A Humorous New Story and Special Collaboration (November 25)
Mark your calendars for November 25, as Title Update 11 delivers a brand-new free story quest titled “Puzzlement.” Ubisoft describes this quest as having a more light-hearted, humorous tone, reminiscent of the beloved Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. During this quest, protagonists Naoe and Yasuke will share and acquire new skills from one another, and players will encounter an engaging new environmental puzzle. Adding to the excitement, Ubisoft has hinted at a special collaboration arriving with this November 25 update.
Players can anticipate even more free updates and engaging content to be rolled out for Assassin’s Creed Shadows throughout the upcoming holiday season.
Originally launched in March for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X, the Japan-set action-adventure game has been the subject of persistent rumors regarding a Nintendo Switch 2 port. These whispers gained significant traction in July when Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot publicly stated that “new versions” of the game were actively being developed for other platforms, strongly hinting at the Switch 2 release.
Since its initial launch, Ubisoft has consistently supported Assassin’s Creed Shadows with a series of post-launch updates, including an earlier parkour enhancement and the substantial “Claws of Awaji” story expansion, which introduced a new chapter, fresh map locations, and additional weapons and gear to the core game experience.
