The latest update for the sensationally viral Steam game, Escape from Duckov, has arrived, and it’s set to change a rather unconventional player strategy: eating poop. Previously, players in this game, developed by a small team of five who have remarkably sold over a million copies, could consume fecal matter to replenish their energy and hydration levels.
While the option to indulge in this rather unappetizing snack remains, the new patch significantly reduces its effectiveness. The official patch notes simply state: “Reduced the Energy and Hydration values provided by Poop.”
As noted by PC Gamer, many players had adopted this unusual tactic to quickly revitalize their characters. Fecal matter, found scattered across the game’s map, would restore some energy and hydration at the cost of a minor poisoning effect. It appears this method proved to be too potent, leading developer Team Soda to implement these adjustments. Interestingly, players can still utilize poop to craft a throwable weapon known as a “Poop Ball.”
