Nintendo is making it easier than ever for fans to use their digital funds! A significant update to the My Nintendo Store now allows players to use their existing eShop credit for purchases. This change opens up a vast selection of collectibles and merchandise for Nintendo enthusiasts.
The update was quickly highlighted by gaming news outlets, noting that Nintendo has also removed the previous $250 balance limit on eShop accounts, giving players even more flexibility.
In related news, Nintendo previously announced plans to dramatically increase production of its highly anticipated Switch 2 console. This decision follows the console’s impressive launch, which shattered sales records and provided a substantial boost to the video game industry. Initial projections for Switch 2 sales in the current fiscal year ranged from 15 to 17.6 million units. However, with the ramped-up production, Nintendo now expects to sell an astounding 25 million units by the end of its fiscal year in March 2026.
Adding to the excitement, the beloved GameCube classic, Luigi’s Mansion, is set to join the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service on October 30. Originally launched in November 2001, this iconic title gave Luigi a rare solo adventure as he explored and cleared a haunted mansion of its ghostly inhabitants. Its popularity led to two successful sequels, released on the 3DS and Switch respectively.
Luigi’s Mansion will join an already strong lineup of GameCube titles available through Switch Online, including The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, SoulCalibur II, Super Mario Strikers, and Chibi-Robo. For those looking to complete their retro gaming experience, Nintendo Switch Online members can also purchase a special GameCube controller designed for the Switch 2 from the My Nintendo Store.
