Indian music composer Shashwat Sachdev, widely recognized for his captivating scores in films such as ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ and ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ has embarked on a prestigious collaboration with the legendary two-time Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer. Their combined talent will be featured in the creation of the title theme for the highly anticipated British television series ‘Virdee.’
Expressing his profound sentiment about this significant international partnership, Sachdev shared in a press release, “The immense joy of composing across different continents lies in the realization that powerful sound needs no translation – it simply conveys truth. From the bustling streets of Mumbai to the vibrant studios of Los Angeles, the underlying emotion, the very heartbeat, remains universally the same. This collaboration has been an experience woven with humility, pride, and deep soulfulness, serving as a powerful reminder that music isn’t merely crafted; it’s a memory waiting to be uncovered.”
He further elaborated on his creative journey, adding, “There are moments when I feel like an explorer, a nomadic spirit traversing diverse cultures and countries, constantly venturing into new musical territories. Working alongside Hans and James has opened up one of the most exceptionally beautiful worlds I’ve ever had the privilege to step into.”
In a related high-profile project, Hans Zimmer has also recently teamed up with India’s own music maestro, A.R. Rahman, for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious film, ‘Ramayana.’ Director Nitesh Tiwari emphasized the grand vision behind ‘Ramayana,’ stating, “This is far more than just a film; it’s a vision intended to transcend geographical boundaries while deeply honoring the soul of our rich culture.” This epic narrative is slated for a two-part release during Diwali in 2026 and 2027, featuring a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
