Nintendo is set to surprise fans with a thrilling addition to its Switch Online + Expansion Pack service next week. The original spooky adventure, Luigi’s Mansion, will materialize in the classic games library on October 30th, perfectly timed for some pre-Halloween ghost-hunting.
First haunting consoles back in November 2001 as a GameCube launch title, Luigi’s Mansion throws Mario’s often-timid brother into an unexpected adventure. Luigi finds himself exploring a mysterious, spectral mansion he mysteriously won in a contest he doesn’t recall entering. Fortunately, he’s not alone! With the ingenious Professor E. Gadd by his side and the trusty Poltergust 3000 – a ghost-sucking vacuum – Luigi must bravely navigate countless eerie rooms, capturing every mischievous ghoul he encounters.

This marks Luigi’s Mansion as the sixth iconic title to grace the Switch Online’s growing GameCube collection. The service initially debuted alongside the Switch 2, bringing with it a trio of beloved games: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, high-speed racer F-Zero GX, and the legendary fighter SoulCalibur II. Following their debut, soccer showdown Super Mario Strikers and the charming Chibi-Robo joined the roster in July and August, rounding out an impressive collection of classics.
Nintendo has also hinted at more GameCube gems joining the service down the line. While specific release dates remain under wraps, they’ve confirmed that fan favorites such as the tropical adventure Super Mario Sunshine, the monster-battling RPG Pokemon Colosseum, and the tactical strategy game Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance are all slated for future additions.
Access to the GameCube collection isn’t the only exclusive benefit for Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. Members also receive complimentary Switch 2 upgrade packs for two monumental titles: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its stunning sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
For those looking to subscribe, a standard Nintendo Switch Online membership costs $20 annually. The more comprehensive Expansion Pack, which includes these classic benefits, is priced at $50 per year. Additionally, Nintendo provides an annual family plan for $80, allowing up to eight Nintendo Accounts to share the subscription across various consoles.
