The North Eastern Railway (NER) has opened its doors for applications, seeking eligible candidates to fill 1104 Apprentice positions across its various departments. Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for these apprentice roles, candidates must have successfully completed their High School (10th grade) with a minimum of 50% marks. Additionally, they must possess an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) qualification in a notified trade. Crucially, these qualifications must have been obtained on or before October 16, 2025, the notification release date.
Regarding age, candidates must be at least 15 years old and not exceed 24 years of age as of October 16, 2025. Age relaxation may apply for reserved categories as per government norms.
Selection Process
The selection process is designed to be merit-based. Candidates will be shortlisted based on a merit list, which will be compiled by calculating the average percentage of marks obtained in both the Matriculation (10th grade) examination (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination. Both components will carry equal weightage in the evaluation.
Provisionally selected candidates will be notified to appear for a Document Verification process at Gorakhpur. Applicants must bring along a copy of their online application form, a medical certificate in the prescribed format, four passport-sized photographs, and all original educational certificates and testimonials for verification.
Application Fee
An application processing fee of ₹100 is required for all candidates. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and female candidates are exempt from this fee. Payments must be made online.
