While Microsoft has not yet officially confirmed a PlayStation 5 port for its expansive RPG, Starfield, a new report suggests that such an announcement is slated for next year. For a while now, whispers of Starfield arriving on Sony’s console have circulated, especially as more Xbox-exclusive titles make their way to the PS5 platform.
According to NateTheHate2, a known leaker on X, the PS5 version of Starfield is expected to be revealed in 2026 while responding to a question about the port. This aligns with a previous August report indicating a possible spring launch on Sony’s system, potentially coinciding with a second major expansion. Bethesda itself hinted at an expansion named “Terran Armada” in a two-year anniversary video for Starfield last September.
Earlier this year, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer kept the door open for Starfield’s PS5 debut. Further fueling speculation, the Bethesda Creation Kit website briefly displayed a PS5 logo for a Starfield mod in March.
Beyond the PS5, NateTheHate2 also hinted at a Nintendo Switch 2 release for Starfield in 2026. This isn’t unprecedented, as Xbox plans to bring “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” to the Switch 2 next year, and several major Xbox-published games have already landed on the PS5. This trend clearly demonstrates a willingness from Xbox to support other console ecosystems with its titles.
Currently, Starfield, which originally launched in 2023, is exclusively available on PC and Xbox Series X|S. For a deeper dive into the game, we recommend checking out available reviews.
