It’s been a dynamic period at Ubisoft. Following the departure of Marc-Alexis Côté, the vice president executive producer of Assassin’s Creed, rumors began circulating about Julian Gerighty, executive producer for The Division franchise, also leaving the company. However, Ubisoft has officially stepped forward to quell these speculations.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Julian Gerighty is very much still with the company, overseeing the creative vision for a slate of exciting projects. His leadership extends to The Division: Resurgence, ongoing updates for The Division 2, the upcoming Survivors expansion, and the officially announced The Division 3.
The news was shared directly on social media. The Massive Entertainment studio, a part of Ubisoft, clarified the situation, stating: “Agents, we’ve seen the rumors that Julian Gerighty has left Ubisoft – that’s far from true. Julian is still with us as Executive Producer for The Division franchise, leading the creative vision for TCTD2, Resurgence, Survivors and TCTD3. We can’t wait to share what’s ahead 🧡”
The official Tom Clancy’s The Division social media account also piqued fan interest by sharing a teaser image for ‘Survivors,’ accompanied by the message: “Intel incoming. Approach with caution.” More information is expected to be revealed soon regarding this expansion.
Julian Gerighty has previously hinted that ‘Survivors’ will offer a fresh perspective on The Division 2’s survival-extraction gameplay elements. He emphasized a strong commitment to transparent communication and community involvement throughout the development process, stating, “Clear communication and community involvement are a focus as we build the new experience, and we will be closely involving you as we move forward on the development journey.”
Earlier this year, The Division 2 saw the release of ‘Battle for Brooklyn,’ its first major downloadable content (DLC) expansion in five years. Interestingly, unlike other prominent franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six, The Division was not included in Ubisoft’s recent spin-off subsidy initiatives.
