We’re closely monitoring the situation. Since this is a broader problem impacting services like Roblox and Snapchat (which rely on AWS), it’s hard to say exactly when Fortnite servers will be fully operational again.
Reports from Amazon indicate that services are already showing signs of recovery, with many expected to come back online shortly. Any remaining issues will likely be due to individual services catching up after the outage.
Typically, Fortnite servers only go offline for scheduled maintenance between patches or when demand surges, like during a major new game mode launch such as Lego Fortnite. There have been exceptions, of course, like the extensive downtime at the start of Chapter 5 Season 2, which saw maintenance extended by eight hours, or larger system-wide outages like the current one.
