Shah Rukh Khan, a global icon, has not only achieved billionaire status but has also inspired a unique career path for his doppelganger, Ibrahim Qadri. Qadri has become a sensation, capitalizing on his uncanny resemblance to the Bollywood superstar by making paid appearances at events.
In a candid interview, Ibrahim Qadri revealed that he charges between ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh for his appearances, depending on the event’s nature. He even stated that his refusal to take on certain assignments creates work opportunities for other Shah Rukh Khan lookalikes who cannot command the same fees.
“All the lookalikes benefit from my work. When I turn down work, a lot of it goes to SRK’s lookalikes. Those who can’t afford me approach them instead, and those guys get the jobs,” Qadri explained.
While Qadri enjoys the financial success, he also humorously noted that his fame can lead to inflated prices when he shops, as people often assume he earns a substantial income. He recounted an instance where he was charged double the price for an item simply because he was recognized as SRK’s lookalike.
Qadri, who boasts 2.4 million followers on Instagram, shared that his journey into lookalike artistry began seriously after the release of the film ‘Raees’. He has been working on refining his physique, mannerisms, and overall resemblance, which he now estimates to be around 30% accurate.
Interestingly, Qadri has intentionally avoided meeting Shah Rukh Khan. He believes that such a meeting might diminish the mystique and excitement surrounding his career, comparing it to finally owning a desired Ferrari that then sits unused in the garage. However, he remains open to meeting SRK if the star himself initiates it.
