Digimon Beatbreak (Crunchyroll, Hulu, Disney+)
Digimon, Digital Monsters, returns with a new anime this fall season! Digimon Beatbreak introduces Tenma, a young boy with an extraordinary connection to technology, leading him to encounter the Digimon known as Gekkomon. Toei Animation, the studio behind previous Digimon titles, is producing this series, promising fans more action-packed adventures. Between this new series and the latest Digimon Story game, it’s truly a fantastic time to be a Digimon fan. Digimon Beatbreak is currently available on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider (Crunchyroll)
This season also brings a unique take on Kamen Rider. Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider follows a 40-year-old man who, as a lifelong fan, dreams of becoming a superhero himself. While not a realistic aspiration, a twist of fate propels him toward realizing this dream. LIDENFILMS, known for Tokyo Revengers and Call of the Night, is producing this series, so expect plenty of dynamic action in this quirky journey of self-discovery. If you enjoy series like Samurai Flamenco or simply love Kamen Rider, this new anime is definitely worth checking out. Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider is streaming now on Crunchyroll.
May I Ask for One Final Thing? (Crunchyroll)
LIDENFILMS is also bringing another entertaining series this season with May I Ask for One Final Thing? The story centers on Scarlet, a princess trapped in an unwanted arranged marriage with a detestable and arrogant prince. When a humiliating incident pushes her past her breaking point, Scarlet dons fighting gloves and starts punching a cast of despicable characters! The premiere is captivating, and it will be fascinating to see how Scarlet navigates the repercussions of her actions and the intricate political landscape. May I Ask for One Final Thing? is available now on Crunchyroll.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 (Disney+ | October 29)
The beloved galaxy far, far away returns in anime form with Star Wars: Visions Volume 3! This anthology series once again features an eclectic collection of anime studios, each crafting unique short films set within the Star Wars universe. Some studios are even developing sequels to their shorts from previous seasons. With contributions from renowned studios like David Production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Wit Studio, and Trigger, many anime fans will recognize the talent involved. If you’re looking for compelling, bite-sized anime stories or are a Star Wars fan curious about the anime medium, this series is a must-watch. Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 premieres October 29 on Disney+.
Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation (Disney+ | October 29)
Another exciting series from the world of Disney arrives this season. Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation follows Yuu, a high school student mysteriously transported to a magical world. They find themselves at a school of magic that bears a striking resemblance to the Queen of Hearts’ domain from Alice in Wonderland. This anime is based on a game of the same name, with Black Butler creator Yana Toboso contributing to the concept and character designs. If you appreciate the drama of Black Butler mixed with a touch of Disney villainy, this series could be perfect for you. Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation premieres October 29 on Disney+.
Dusk Beyond the End of the World (HIDIVE)
Adding to this fall season’s new offerings is Dusk Beyond the End of the World. This series follows Akira, a young man entangled in escalating tensions surrounding AI development and a loved one. After what appears to be the end of his life, he awakens hundreds of years later and eventually encounters a familiar face. P.A. Works, the studio known for Shirobako and Akiba Maid War, is helming the production. Beyond its intriguing futuristic premise, the action sequences seen so far are quite impressive. If you have some spare time between the many returning shonen anime this fall, this series might be worth a watch. Dusk Beyond the End of the World is available now on HIDIVE.
Sanda (Amazon Prime)
Just in time for the holidays, this series about a descendant of Santa Claus might be one of the most unusual offerings this fall season. Sanda follows a young boy of the same name as he grapples with a sudden attack from a classmate and a mysterious transformation that makes him resemble Santa Claus. That’s right – this young kid turns into a buff Santa! Studio Science Saru is producing this series, and it looks incredible so far. From its signature use of color to its absurd character moments, Science Saru once again demonstrates its expertise with what promises to be a fun and wacky show. If you’re a fan of Dan Da Dan and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, this series will be right up your alley. Sanda is available now on Amazon Prime.
SPY x FAMILY Season 3 (Crunchyroll, Hulu, Disney+)
The beloved Forgers family returns this fall for Season 3 of SPY x FAMILY. The secret balancing act of Loid, Yor, and Anya continues, but this season promises to delve deeper into the supporting characters now that this pretend family has established a solid foundation. Wit Studio and CloverWorks are once again collaborating on the animation production, so expect entertaining and visually stunning sequences, much like the iconic dueling excavators from the season premiere. SPY x FAMILY Season 3 is currently available on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Disney+.
One-Punch Man Season 3 (Hulu, Disney+)
Another highly anticipated return this fall is One-Punch Man! It’s been six years since we last saw the all-powerful Saitama and the scheming Monster Association in Season 2. J.C. Staff, the studio behind Bakuman and Food Wars!, is back to continue animation production for Season 3. After such a long wait, expectations are high, and it will be exciting to see how the series elevates itself from previous seasons as the Monster Association and Garou continue their plans. One-Punch Man Season 3 is available now on Hulu and Disney+.
My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON (Crunchyroll, Hulu, Disney+)
Last but certainly not least, a superhero anime epic is drawing to its conclusion with My Hero Academia’s final season. When we last left Deku and the gang, the major battle between heroes and villains had somewhat settled, with a few key players still fighting fiercely. It’s been almost exactly a year since the previous season, and now fans will finally witness the conclusion of this long-running favorite. Bones Film is producing the final season, so we anticipate amazing visuals and impactful character moments to provide a fitting send-off to this celebrated series. My Hero Academia Final Season is available now on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Disney+.
