OnePlus has officially unveiled OxygenOS 16, its brand-new operating system built on Android 16, promising a revolutionary user experience. This update is designed to intelligently adapt to your habits, offering a powerful suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features focused on enhancing creativity, efficiency, and overall productivity. Key innovations include the upgraded Plus Mind feature, which intuitively recognizes and saves on-screen content to your personal Mind Space. Furthermore, OxygenOS 16 boasts Parallel Processing 2.0 for buttery-smooth animations across navigation and system interactions, alongside impressive cross-ecosystem connectivity that allows OnePlus devices to seamlessly interact with Apple products.
OxygenOS 16 Release Schedule
OnePlus recently announced the OxygenOS 16 Beta Programme for its smartphones, which began today (October 17). This initiative allows select OnePlus users to experience the new features of the upcoming Android 16-based OS update before its wider rollout to eligible devices.
Furthermore, the OnePlus 15 will be the first smartphone from the company to run OxygenOS 16 right out of the box.

The updated design language across the Android 16-based interface showcases elegant Gaussian blur effects, gracefully rounded corners, and translucent elements in areas like Quick Settings, the Home Screen, and the App Drawer. OnePlus has also refined the optical feedback in its native applications, such as the Clock and Calculator, for a more tactile and intuitive experience.
A significant highlight of OxygenOS 16 is the enhanced Plus Mind feature. This intelligent tool can recognize and capture content directly from your screen, consolidating it into a centralized hub called Mind Space. Activating this feature is simple, either via the dedicated Plus key or a convenient three-finger swipe-up gesture. The Plus key can also be reconfigured for various other functions. Furthermore, seamless Gemini integration allows the system to pull relevant information from Mind Space to deliver highly personalized results.
The robust AI productivity suite is another game-changer, featuring AI Writer for effortless content creation, including mind maps, charts, and social media captions. AI Scan, as its name suggests, efficiently scans documents and converts them into easily shareable PDFs. For creative endeavors, OxygenOS 16 offers tools like AI Portrait Glow and AI Perfect Shot. Additionally, the AI PlayLab provides exclusive access to experimental features such as YumSee and Party Up.
Cross-ecosystem connectivity receives a major boost, allowing OnePlus devices to connect effortlessly with Windows and Mac PCs. Crucially, the OS now supports Apple ecosystem products, enabling synchronized notifications and health data tracking with your Apple Watch. Security is paramount with the integrated Private Computing Cloud, a comprehensive full-chain security solution that provides GPU and CPU processing protection, ensuring your sensitive data remains private and secure in the cloud.
For OnePlus Tablets, OxygenOS 16 introduces a highly adaptive and personalized interface. The revamped home screen features scalable icons and an expanded dock capable of holding up to 18 applications. Multitasking is also significantly improved with OpenCanvas, which supports up to five simultaneous apps – three in split-view and two resizable floating windows – for unparalleled productivity on larger screens.
