Calling all Final Fantasy enthusiasts! You can now grab the excellent remasters of Final Fantasy X, X-2, and Final Fantasy XII for Nintendo Switch at incredible prices. Both the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster collection and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are available for only $25 each. This is a fantastic deal, especially when you consider the digital versions typically cost $50 on the Switch eShop.
These physical editions are often hard to find at major retailers, with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age being particularly elusive and usually sold at inflated prices by third-party sellers. This recent restock is likely due to the release of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, which shares a universe with Final Fantasy XII.
Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster for Nintendo Switch – $25 (was $50)
The Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster package brings enhanced editions of both beloved PS2 classics. Final Fantasy X is widely celebrated as one of the series’ finest entries. Its Conditional Turn-Based Battle System innovated the turn-based era, adding strategic depth, while the new Aeon creatures elevated summoning. The dynamic Sphere Grid system also gave players extensive control over character development. The world of Spira remains a masterpiece of Final Fantasy settings, featuring an unforgettable cast led by Tidus and Yuna.
Originally a showcase for the PlayStation 2’s power in 2001, Final Fantasy X’s success led to the franchise’s first direct sequel, Final Fantasy X-2. While not as universally adored as its predecessor, it remains a solid RPG. Both games look fantastic on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in this HD Remaster. Note that Final Fantasy X is on the cartridge, while Final Fantasy X-2 requires a download via a voucher included in the box. Each game offers over 30 hours of gameplay, easily extending to more than 100 hours with all the side content.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age for Nintendo Switch – $25 (was $50)
Final Fantasy XII marked a bold new direction for the main series. Square Enix shifted from traditional turn-based combat to a real-time, tactical system more akin to online MMOs, sparking varied reactions upon its 2006 launch. However, it’s now often hailed as a series highlight. Set in the expansive world of Ivalice, Final Fantasy XII feels like a single-player MMO, boasting an exceptional quest system, numerous secrets, and a rich cast of NPCs.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is the definitive version, featuring improved visuals, quality-of-life enhancements, and the refined job system from earlier iterations. A typical playthrough averages around 40 hours, but dedicated players can easily double or triple that with the vast amount of optional content.
