Good news for PlayStation fans – the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake is officially joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog this October, confirming earlier whispers! To celebrate Halloween, this psychological horror classic from Bloober Team will be accompanied by another terrifying revamp: Ballistic Moon’s Until Dawn remake, which originally launched on PS5 and PC last year. But the scares don’t stop there! Also entering the service are the gripping action-adventure Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the vampire survival RPG V Rising, the branching narrative of As Dusk Falls, the unsettling puzzle horror of Poppy Playtime, and the magical survival game Wizard with a Gun.

All these exciting games will be added to the Game Catalog on October 21 and will be accessible to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tier members. Sony also revealed a classic Tekken title for its Classics Catalog, which will be available to PS Plus Premium subscribers this month. Let’s take a closer look at this month’s full Game Catalog lineup:

PS Plus Game Catalog Titles for October

October is truly the month for all things horror. Sony kicked off its Halloween celebrations earlier this month by adding Alan Wake 2 to PS Plus. Now, as previously rumored, the PlayStation giant is bringing the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake to the Game Catalog. Developed by Bloober Team, this remake revitalizes the 2001 horror masterpiece with stunning modern visuals, alongside improved gameplay and other features.

Players step into the shoes of James Sunderland, a grieving widower drawn to the eerie, perpetually foggy, and deserted town of Silent Hill in a desperate search for answers. The town’s oppressive and isolating atmosphere perfectly amplifies the psychological horror themes woven throughout the game. In Silent Hill 2, players will confront grotesque monsters and gradually piece together fragments of a disturbing past. This title will be available on PS5.

The Game Catalog will also include the Until Dawn remake this month. This updated version features enhanced graphics and some new content, allowing players to dive into a captivating slasher flick where their decisions literally determine who lives and who dies. The story centers on a group of young friends who gather at a remote mountain lodge one year after a tragic event. As they attempt to reconnect, they realize they’re being hunted by a relentless serial killer.

Until Dawn is a narrative-driven adventure where every player choice shapes the unfolding story. Depending on the paths you take, all, some, or none of the characters might survive the terrifying night. The Until Dawn remake will be available to PS Plus subscribers on PS5.

Another significant triple-A title joining PS Plus in October is Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Ryu Ga Gotoku’s 2020 RPG introduces a fresh protagonist in Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking member of a Tokyo Yakuza family. After being betrayed by his former boss, Kasuga embarks on a journey to uncover a vast conspiracy, aided by a motley crew of eccentric allies.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon notably shifts from its predecessors’ real-time action combat to engaging turn-based RPG battles. Players can leverage their party members’ unique abilities and even utilize environmental objects during skirmishes. Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be playable on both PS4 and PS5.

Sony is also bringing V Rising to the Game Catalog this October. This vampire survival action-RPG, released on PS5 last year, features an expansive open world where players embody a vampire. As they feed on humans to grow stronger, players can also construct their stronghold, upgrade their gear, and challenge formidable bosses. V Rising will be available to PS Plus members on PS5.

Here’s the complete list of games coming to the Game Catalog in October:

  • Silent Hill 2 remake (PS5)
  • Until Dawn remake (PS5)
  • V Rising (PS5)
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS4, PS5)
  • Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 (PS4, PS5)
  • As Dusk Falls (PS4, PS5)
  • Wizard with a Gun (PS5)

Additionally, Sony will add Tekken 3 to its Classics Catalog for PS5 and PS4 users who are PS Plus Deluxe/Premium tier members, also on October 21.
