Pre-orders for The Outer Worlds 2 are currently live across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players can choose between the Standard Edition for $70 or the Premium Edition for $100. The Premium Edition offers enticing bonuses, including a Season Pass that grants access to future story expansions, and allows you to play the game up to five days ahead of the official launch, beginning on October 24th. For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, there’s a special upgrade option to the Premium Edition for just $30. Various retailer options are available for pre-ordering both the Standard and Premium editions.
The $80 Price Point That Wasn’t
Earlier this year, Microsoft had planned to increase the price of some 2025 new releases from $70 to $80, with The Outer Worlds 2 initially slated to be one of the first titles at this higher price point. However, Microsoft later reversed this decision, confirming the game would retain its $70 price. Interestingly, the $100 Premium Edition’s price remained unchanged. This makes Nintendo’s Mario Kart World a rare exception, standing as the only major new release from a big publisher priced at $80 this year.
