While no game launch is ever perfectly smooth, some begin with more glitches than others. Thankfully, Battlefield 6 has had a relatively strong start, especially when you consider the sheer scale of the game and its player base – a much-welcomed change from the turbulent launch of its predecessor, 2042. However, there’s one particular movement bug in this new multiplayer game that consistently brings a laugh to those who see it (unless they’re on the receiving end!). The good news? A developer at Battlefield Studios has confirmed that a fix is in the works, so the reign of super-speedy soldiers is nearing its end.
[Video: Demonstrating the Battlefield 6 ladder exploit where players launch themselves across the map]
For those unfamiliar with this amusing exploit, it’s surprisingly easy to pull off. As an Assault class player, simply deploy your ladder gadget at an angle against a low wall. Then, run up the ladder, and about halfway, perform a quick 180-degree spin followed by a jump. The result? You’re flung across the street or off a building at a speed that would make an Olympic sprinter jealous! This peculiar maneuver currently allows players to ambush opponents, quickly rotate to objectives, or make a swift escape from intense firefights.
David Sirland, the lead producer for Battlefield 6, recently acknowledged the issue when a player directly asked for a patch, responding with a simple, reassuring “we will.” This swift confirmation is why we feel comfortable explaining the bug – even the most dedicated exploiters won’t be able to utilize this trick for much longer.
Watching this piece of movement tech unfold is truly comical, as Battlefield 6’s otherwise realistic setting is momentarily replaced by a Looney Tunes-esque burst of speed. However, when you’re the one being outmaneuvered by a player bouncing off a ladder, the humor quickly fades!
This news comes after a successful opening weekend for Battlefield 6, marked by very few major complaints. The game’s player numbers significantly surpassed Call of Duty on Steam, and developers are already addressing the most glaring issues. Even when players using the EA app experienced brief outages, they were promptly compensated with free battle passes, showing a commitment to player satisfaction.
Once Battlefield 6 addresses these minor issues and patches out such exploits, we are confident it will solidify its place as an all-time great shooter. Of course, a little expansion of some maps to accommodate more vehicles wouldn’t hurt either!
So, grab your ladders (for now!), load your magazines, and make sure you’ve equipped the best Battlefield 6 weapons for the job. You can also earn some sweet XP with the best Battlefield 6 portal codes.
