Unnati Foundation, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to delivering vocational training to students from underserved communities, has officially partnered with the Government of Gujarat. This collaboration involves implementing Unnati’s specialized UNXT program across various government colleges and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) throughout the state.
Through this partnership, the UNXT program is set to reach 200 government institutions and ITIs in Gujarat, with an initial target of training 25,000 young people. This initiative is part of a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which ultimately aims to train a total of 75,000 final-year students.
The comprehensive UNXT program includes a 200-hour curriculum designed to impart essential real-world skills. This training is divided into a 90-hour offline module and a 90-hour online component via a Learning Management System (LMS). The program places a strong emphasis on developing crucial skills such as English communication, essential life skills, values, and effective interview preparation.
Further enhancing its value, each participant will undergo a psychometric analysis. This assessment will generate a detailed report offering insights into their individual aptitudes and overall readiness for the job market. To facilitate direct employment opportunities, participant data will be integrated into Unnati’s Udhyogam platform, a specialized job portal for fresh graduates. The platform enables recruiters to efficiently search for candidates based on location, academic background, and features unique video resumes for a more comprehensive candidate evaluation.
The program welcomes students from all academic disciplines, including arts, commerce, science, and engineering, ensuring broad accessibility.
Dr. Ramesh Swamy, Director of Unnati Foundation, highlighted the partnership’s goal to create impactful change at the grassroots level by ensuring that recent graduates are well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of the professional world. He stated, “This initiative represents a crucial step forward in addressing the employability gap among young people, especially those from rural and underrepresented backgrounds. We are eager to collaborate with colleges across Gujarat to provide final-year students with the vital life skills and long-term career opportunities they deserve.”
