A devastating fire has ripped through the historic Bernaga Monastery, a significant landmark in Italy’s Lombardy region. Drone footage captured the extent of the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the centuries-old structure. The monastery, founded in 1628 and located approximately 30 kilometers east of Milan, was home to 22 cloistered nuns.
Fortunately, all 22 nuns were safely evacuated from the monastery during the incident, according to reports from Italian media. No injuries have been reported among the residents or emergency responders.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to determine how the blaze started.
