High-Stakes Gaza Peace Summit: Trump and Sisi to Lead Crucial Talks on October 13

A critical peace summit focusing on the Gaza Strip is scheduled for Monday, October 13, 2025, in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh. This significant international gathering will be jointly chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The Egyptian presidency announced on Saturday that leaders from over twenty nations are expected to participate.

The primary objective of this high-level meeting is to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip. Beyond immediate cessation of hostilities, the summit also aims to intensify efforts toward achieving lasting peace and stability across the wider Middle East, thereby initiating a new period of regional security.

Confirmed attendees include prominent global figures such as U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Spain’s Pedro Sanchez. French President Emmanuel Macron has also confirmed his presence, underscoring the international significance of these discussions.

However, questions remain regarding the participation of key regional players. There has been no confirmation on whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attend. Furthermore, Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, has explicitly stated its refusal to take part in the summit. According to Hossam Badran, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, the group prefers to engage through established mediators like Qatar and Egypt, a strategy they employed during earlier discussions concerning Gaza.
