Finding the Twisted Bud
The Silksong Twisted Bud can be found deep within the murky depths of Bilewater, specifically northwest of the Bellway. Your quickest path to this elusive item is via the Whispering Vaults shortcut, a route detailed in our comprehensive Silksong Bilewater location guide. While other paths exist through the Exhaust Organ (via The Mist), Sinner’s Road, or descending from the Putrified Ducts, the Whispering Vaults shortcut remains the most efficient option.
Once you’ve dropped into the Muckmaggots area from the Whispering Vaults, proceed to your right and descend into the section guarded by two Swamp Squits. Look for the wooden stakes on the lower ledge to your right; destroying them will reveal a hidden path forward.
Navigate this narrow passage, slicing through any obstructing vines. Be wary, as several Miremites patrol this area! Perform a wall jump up the vertical shaft, then skillfully pogo bounce across the explosive green orbs on your right. After breaking through two more sets of vines, you’ll reach the root crib where you can finally retrieve the Twisted Bud.
Utilizing the Twisted Bud
To put the crying Twisted Bud to good use, you must present it to Greyroot in Shellwood. This action will allow you to unlock and accept the ‘Rite of Rebirth’ wish.
However, this can only occur after you have successfully collected the Pollip Hearts for Greyroot and completed the ‘Rite of the Pollip’ quest. Completing this prior quest advances Greyroot’s storyline, making her receptive to accepting the Twisted Bud. As a bonus, this also rewards you with the Pollip Pouch, a highly beneficial tool.
