Pradeep Ranganathan, the actor-director known for his unique storytelling, was initially set to treat audiences with two of his films releasing during the festive Diwali period. However, the makers of ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ (LIK) have decided to postpone its release to December 18, 2025. This strategic move aims to avoid a direct box-office clash with Ranganathan’s other film, ‘Dude’, which is slated for release on October 17.
LIK’s Release Date Shift
In a public statement shared on their X account, the production team behind ‘LIK’ explained their decision. They likened the situation to two trains on the same track, emphasizing that a head-on collision benefits no one. To show respect for the efforts invested in both films and to ensure Pradeep Ranganathan’s work gets the best possible platform, they opted for a rescheduling.
The statement read, “Despite our best efforts to coordinate with Mythri Movies, we couldn’t find common ground and we believe it is wiser to let both films shine without overlap. We extend our heartfelt wishes to Pradeep Ranganathan and the entire team of Dude for a joyous Diwali and a grand success at the box office.”
About the Films
‘Dude’ features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead opposite Pradeep Ranganathan. The film’s music is being handled by Sai Abhyankkar, and its first single, ‘Oorum Blood’, has already gained significant traction on social media. This project also marks the directorial debut of Keerthiswaran. The plot details of this romantic drama are still under wraps, but it also stars R. Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, and Rohini.
Meanwhile, ‘LIK’ is a futuristic romantic comedy set in 2040, with Pradeep Ranganathan starring alongside Krithi Shetty. The film is produced by Nayanthara.
