Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL), leveraging its wholly-owned subsidiary Jindal Stainless Steelway Ltd (JSSL), proudly announced the grand opening of its inaugural stainless steel fabrication unit. Situated in Washivali, Patalganga, a key industrial hub near Mumbai, this new facility marks a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy.
Spanning an impressive 4 lakh square feet, the state-of-the-art plant is specifically engineered to meet the growing demands of India’s vital bridge sector. Its primary focus will be on fabricating essential components, including a diverse range of girders, which are crucial for modern infrastructure projects.
Developed with an initial investment of approximately ₹125 crore, this new venture is poised to strengthen JSL’s market standing. The company aims to position itself not only as a leading supplier of high-quality stainless steel materials but also as a comprehensive provider of advanced fabrication solutions for India’s burgeoning infrastructure landscape.
Looking ahead, the facility has ambitious plans for growth. By the financial year 2026-27, it is projected to achieve an impressive annual fabrication capacity of 18,000 tonnes, a substantial increase from the estimated 4,000 tonnes in the current fiscal year. This expansion is designed to cater to the escalating demand for sustainable and high-quality bridge infrastructure across the nation.
Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of JSL, emphasized the unit’s strategic importance, stating, “With this new facility, our goal is to implement a more robust, end-to-end quality management system. This ensures that these critical structures are built to the highest possible standards, thereby significantly contributing to India’s broader infrastructure growth and development.”
Echoing this sentiment, Tarun Khulbe, the company’s CEO & CFO, highlighted how the new unit addresses a crucial industry need. “The launch of this facility enables us to bridge existing gaps by seamlessly integrating material excellence, expert fabrication, and streamlined processes. This comprehensive approach will allow us to deliver timely and superior infrastructure solutions,” he added.
Jindal Stainless also revealed plans for future expansion, with intentions to establish similar fabrication facilities in other strategic regions across India, further solidifying its national footprint.
