Mount Everest Blizzard: Rescue Underway for Stranded Hikers
Rescue efforts are underway to assist hundreds of hikers caught in a sudden and severe blizzard on the eastern face of Mount Everest in Tibet, as reported by Chinese state media.
So far, approximately 350 hikers have been safely evacuated. Rescuers have also established contact with another 200 individuals who are still awaiting assistance. The heavy snowfall began on Friday evening and has intensified significantly, creating dangerous conditions on the mountain.
Meanwhile, the severe weather has also impacted Nepal, where heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding have tragically claimed at least 47 lives since Friday.
