It’s time for a confession: I have a deep, unyielding obsession with tabletop RPGs. From Dungeons and Dragons to Call of Cthulhu and Candela Obscura, if it’s dark, mysterious, and fantastical, I’m captivated. But at the very top of that list, my all-time favorite is Vampire: The Masquerade. This love was kindled by the original Bloodlines game and even Sharkmob’s short-lived but wonderfully chaotic battle royale, Bloodhunt.
My journey into the tabletop world might be relatively recent, but in anticipation of Bloodlines 2, I’ve already dug out my trusty black and red dice to craft a new character (a Ventrue, this time, stepping away from my usual Toreador). I’m fully embracing my ‘Vampire Era,’ and I couldn’t be happier about it.
After months of extensive research through countless YouTube videos, I’ve found that replaying Bloodlines with a deeper understanding of the lore feels incredibly fulfilling. In true Malkavian fashion, my pinboard is a web of interconnected ideas, constantly sparking ‘eureka!’ moments as I connect various narrative threads. While these games are enjoyable on a superficial level, truly grasping the intricate lore has allowed me to completely immerse myself in the World of Darkness.
However, building a comprehensive library of World of Darkness books can be quite costly, and finding physical copies of Vampire: The Masquerade tomes isn’t always easy. A core rulebook typically sells for around $55, with many supplemental chronicles and reference guides ranging from $45 to $50. My own Player’s Guide, for instance, cost me about $51 and was a challenge to track down.
But if you’re looking to delve into the tabletop RPG experience before Bloodlines 2 arrives, there’s an absolutely incredible offer that you won’t want to miss. To celebrate the annual Month of Darkness, Renegade has partnered to bring you a collection of 57 digital books – encompassing Vampire: The Masquerade, Hunter: The Reckoning, and Werewolf: The Apocalypse – all for just $25 / £18.54.
This comprehensive bundle includes all the essential player handbooks, storyteller toolkits (think dungeon master guides), standalone adventure chronicles like the excellent Fall of London, and deep-dive lore books covering everything from the secretive Camarilla to the intense Second Inquisition.
Key highlights of the collection feature the Player’s Guide, which details seven of the thirteen vampire clans (including the popular LaSombra and the often-underestimated Ministry), and Blood Sigils, an invaluable resource for both aspiring Thinblood alchemists and seasoned sorcerers.
You can acquire all 57 digital books for the stated price of $25 / £18.54, which is the minimum expected. If you wish to support a good cause, you can always choose to contribute more. This incredible Month of Darkness bundle boasts a total value of $977 / £724.90, offering monumental savings. Alternatively, smaller bundles are available: 27 items for $15 / £11.12, or 12 items for $5 / £3.70. However, these lesser bundles do omit some of the more comprehensive and beginner-friendly texts.
This special offer is available only until the end of October, so don’t miss your chance to grab it.
If all this Vampire: The Masquerade talk has stirred your immortal blood, you might want to explore the different Bloodlines 2 clans to decide your faction before the game’s release. And if you’re still on the fence about The Chinese Room’s upcoming vampire title, a recent preview might just sway your opinion.
What’s your favorite World of Darkness game? Share your thoughts! Mine is undeniably Vampire, but Mage: The Ascension comes in at a very close second.
