Citroen India has officially expanded its X-Series family with the debut of the New Aircross X. This marks the third exciting model to join the automaker’s 2.0 strategy in India, standing proudly alongside the C3X and Basalt X. Let’s dive into what makes this new launch so noteworthy.
What’s New with the Citroen Aircross X?
While the Aircross X retains its signature SUV silhouette on the outside, it now comes with a captivating new Deep Forest Green paint option and a distinctive ‘X’ badge on the tailgate. However, the true transformation lies within the cabin. Drivers and passengers will appreciate the new ventilated leatherette seats, sophisticated diffused ambient and footwell lighting, and a premium leatherette-wrapped instrument panel adorned with elegant gold accents. The gear lever has been redesigned for a more ergonomic feel, complementing the advanced 10.25-inch bezel-less infotainment system and a sharp 7-inch digital driver’s display.
One of the most groundbreaking additions is CARA, Citroen’s innovative in-car assistant. Freshly introduced, CARA is designed to converse in an impressive 52 languages and can even switch between them mid-conversation, making interaction seamless. This intelligent assistant allows for control over various vehicle functions, including tyre pressure monitoring, lights, and door locks. Beyond vehicle control, CARA enhances connectivity for calls, music streaming, navigation, setting reminders, and even delivering real-time cricket scores. For peace of mind, it also offers emergency assistance through voice SOS and automated crash alerts.
Further enhancements elevate the driving experience, such as sensor-based ingress with push-button start, a comprehensive 360-degree camera with satellite view for effortless parking, cruise control with a speed limiter, and an auto-dimming IRVM for improved night driving. Safety remains a top priority, with the Aircross 5S variant recently achieving a commendable 5-star Adult Protection rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). Across all variants, the SUV is equipped with over 40 active and passive safety features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), hill hold assist, and rear parking sensors.
The Aircross X offers versatile powertrain choices, including two engine options with both manual and automatic transmissions. Buyers can select between the efficient 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 80 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, or a more powerful turbo petrol variant delivering 109 bhp and 190 Nm. A CNG variant is also available, catering to eco-conscious drivers. Pricing for the Aircross X starts at an attractive ₹8.29 lakh, with higher-end trims reaching up to ₹13.49 lakh. Customization options abound, with ten exterior color options, including various monotone and dual-tone combinations, and three distinct interior themes. Bookings are now open at Citroen dealerships nationwide and conveniently online via the company’s website.
