Fans of Prime Video’s ‘Fallout’ TV series are in for a treat: Walton Goggins’ compelling character, The Ghoul, is set to make his grand entrance into Fallout 76. This exciting addition comes as part of the game’s upcoming ‘Burning Springs’ expansion, promising a fresh wave of post-apocalyptic adventures.
While the ‘Burning Springs’ expansion officially launches in early December, players won’t have to wait long to get a sneak peek. A public test server for the expansion is scheduled to open its doors on October 2, offering an early look at what’s to come.
Though players won’t be able to play *as* The Ghoul, they will encounter him in Burning Springs, Ohio, where he runs a bar aptly named ‘The Last Resort.’ His role in the expansion involves assigning players various bounty hunter missions, adding a new layer of gameplay and narrative depth.
These assignments range from ‘grunt hunts’ – lower-tier bounties perfect for gaining experience and nabbing occasional legendary items – to more challenging ‘tougher targets’ purchasable with in-game caps. The ultimate test comes with ‘head hunts,’ difficult missions open to anyone in the vicinity, often requiring teamwork to successfully complete.
The ‘Burning Springs’ expansion also introduces a pivotal new character: the Rust King. Described as an intelligent yet violently inclined super mutant, the Rust King will guide players as they navigate the ruthless environment of Burning Springs. The Fallout 76 development team has hinted that the Rust King’s influence might extend beyond this single expansion, suggesting a more significant future role.
In related news, Bethesda recently rolled out an update for Fallout 76 designed to simplify C.A.M.P. building, making base construction more accessible for all players. Additionally, the studio recently unveiled a new trailer for ‘Fallout Season 2,’ which is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on December 17.
