Leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors has announced a substantial additional investment of ₹120 crore in Freight Tiger, a company at the forefront of India’s digital freight ecosystem. This latest funding round follows an initial investment of ₹150 crore made in October 2023, bringing Tata Motors’ total commitment to Freight Tiger to an impressive ₹270 crore.
T.V. Swaminathan, Vice President & Head of Digital Business for Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, highlighted the strategic importance of this investment. He stated that this isn’t merely about funding technology; it’s about fundamentally transforming logistics through the power of artificial intelligence. Swaminathan emphasized that Freight Tiger’s advanced AI capabilities are poised to create India’s first truly integrated logistics ecosystem. This initiative represents a profound shift, aiming to establish a unified digital backbone that will revolutionize freight movement across the nation. He reiterated Tata Motors’ dedication to not only bolstering India’s physical logistics infrastructure but also actively shaping its digital evolution, paving the way for more intelligent, interconnected, and customer-focused freight operations benefiting both businesses and consumers.
Swapnil Shah, Founder & CEO of Freight Tiger, echoed this sentiment, underscoring his company’s mission to enhance the speed and efficiency of freight movement throughout India’s consumer goods and services economy. Looking ahead to the fourth quarter of 2025, Freight Tiger is set to unveil several innovative AI-powered solutions. These include a Vehicle Supply Density Platform, a Next-Generation Dispatch Planning & Procurement Module, and an Integrated Freight Desk. The company also plans to make key leadership appointments to support and drive this exciting new phase of expansion and development.
