Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated film, ‘They Call Him OG’, helmed by director Sujeeth, has defied mixed reviews to emerge as a box office success. The gangster drama, which premiered on September 25th after paid previews on the 24th, has already garnered significant attention and commercial success.

On its sixth day in theaters, ‘OG’ reportedly added approximately ₹6.7 crore to its collection, bringing the week’s total to an impressive ₹154 crore, according to Sacnilk. The film’s box office journey began with a strong opening day, earning ₹63.75 crore on Day 1, following an initial ₹21 crore on Day 0. While Day 2 saw a dip, the weekend collections remained robust, with each day bringing in around ₹18.5 crore. The film experienced a slight dip on Monday and Tuesday, adding ₹7.4 crore and ₹6.7 crore respectively.

Audience occupancy has been notably strong in key regions, with Warangal leading at 46%, followed closely by Kakinada (45%) and Karimnagar (35.67%). Major cities like Vijayawada (23.33%) and Vizag (28%) also contributed significantly, while Hyderabad saw a 19% occupancy. Even with lower attendance in NCR and Mumbai, the film’s overall performance indicates strong audience engagement.

Adding to the film’s acclaim, veteran actor Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan’s brother, lauded ‘They Call Him OG’ for its brilliant direction and performances. He expressed his admiration on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Watched #TheyCallHimOG with my whole family and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. A brilliantly made underworld gangster film on par with Hollywood standards, while keeping the right emotions intact. From beginning to end, the director conceived the film in an extraordinary way. Congratulations to @sujeethsign.”

Produced by DVV Entertainment, ‘They Call Him OG’ boasts a stellar cast including Pawan Kalyan, Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj. The film’s widespread appeal is evident from its reported worldwide gross of over ₹250 crore during its opening weekend.
