Ghost of Yotei Launches with a Massive Day-One Patch: All the Key Fixes You Need to Know

Gamers are eagerly awaiting the chance to delve into Sucker Punch’s highly anticipated sequel, Ghost of Yotei, later this week. However, if you plan on exploring the majestic landscapes around Mount Yotei, you’ll definitely want to ensure your game is fully updated. A substantial day-one patch, Version 1.006, has been released, bringing a host of crucial improvements.

This update includes significant fixes for ray tracing and overall performance, alongside enhancements to animations, gameplay mechanics, and environmental details. The patch notes highlight numerous bug fixes, address various crashes, and even introduce new additions to the game’s photo mode.

It’s worth noting that players who purchased a physical disc copy of Ghost of Yotei will need to download this 1.006 update. Those who pre-installed the digital version will find the patch already integrated and ready to go at launch. The co-creative director at Sucker Punch recently expressed relief that a major competitor, Grand Theft Auto 6, was delayed, thus avoiding a direct clash with Ghost of Yotei’s release.

Ghost of Yotei is set to launch on PlayStation 5 on October 1st at 9 PM PT (October 2nd at 12 AM ET). Early reviews praise the game as “a gripping tale of revenge.” Additionally, a free Legends multiplayer mode is planned, though players will have to wait until 2026 for its arrival.
