In a solemn candlelight demonstration held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue on M.G. Road, Vijayawada, leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) passionately called for justice for the families affected by the tragic stampede at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, November 1, resulted in multiple fatalities.
During the protest, YSRCP NTR district president Devineni Avinash voiced deep concerns over the lack of safety measures for devotees at religious sites. He accused the government of diverting attention with political maneuvering while people were losing their lives, emphasizing that the public is closely observing these developments and will hold those accountable responsible for the deaths.
Adding to the criticism, former Minister Velampalli Srinivas alleged that the government was attempting to shirk its responsibility concerning the Kasibugga temple tragedy. Prominent party leaders, including Malladi Vishnu, Lella Appi Reddy, T. Nageswara Rao, and P.V. Mahesh, also participated in the vigil, showing solidarity with the demand for justice.
