In a shocking turn of events in Mathura’s Vrindavan town, a 68-year-old businessman and prominent ‘beedi’ brand owner, Suresh Chand Agarwal, was allegedly killed by his son, Naresh Agarwal. The incident, believed to have stemmed from an argument while the son was intoxicated, ended tragically with the son also taking his own life.
The altercation occurred at the businessman’s residence. According to reports, Naresh, in a state of intoxication, reportedly lost his temper during an argument with his father and fired a shot, hitting him near the shoulder. In the ensuing panic, Naresh then shot himself dead with the same weapon. Family members alerted by the gunshots discovered both father and son critically injured. They were pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
While initial reports suggest the dispute may have been related to Suresh Chand Agarwal objecting to his son’s drinking, authorities are still investigating the precise cause of the incident. The family, known for their beedi manufacturing business which employs many laborers, has not yet filed a formal complaint. The post-mortem examinations have been completed, and the bodies have been handed over to the family.
