A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru, where a 40-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her male friend following a dispute over marriage.
The horrifying event occurred on Friday near a government school in Pillanna Garden, falling under the jurisdiction of the K.G. Halli Police Station. Authorities swiftly apprehended the accused, identified as 43-year-old Kutti, a resident of K.G. Halli and an employee at a private firm. The victim was Renuka, also 40, and a resident of Pillanna Garden.
Police investigations reveal that Renuka, who worked as a domestic helper and was divorced, had been in a long-standing relationship with Kutti. However, Kutti was a married man, and their affair was kept secret. Given their shared residency in neighboring localities, they had known each other for some time.
The situation escalated when Renuka reportedly began pressuring Kutti to marry her, expressing her desire to no longer continue their relationship in secrecy. Kutti, however, was unwilling to commit to marriage.
On Friday, as Renuka was on her way home from work, Kutti contacted her, asking to meet near the government school under the pretext of discussing their future. During this confrontation, witnesses reported that Kutti violently attacked Renuka in public, stabbing her repeatedly before making an attempt to flee.
Bystanders immediately rushed Renuka to a nearby hospital, but tragically, she succumbed to her severe injuries. The K.G. Halli police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
