A somber cloud hangs over Rampura village in Arsikere taluk, Karnataka, following the tragic death of a resident who succumbed to injuries sustained during a violent assault on Saturday.
Girish, 44, passed away at a Bengaluru hospital late Saturday night. Police reports indicate he was allegedly attacked by Ramesh, a fellow villager.
The incident unfolded when Ramesh was reportedly causing a disturbance in an inebriated state. Girish bravely stepped in, attempting to calm the situation and advise Ramesh against his alcohol consumption. Tragically, this intervention led to Ramesh allegedly assaulting Girish with a large boulder, inflicting severe injuries.
Local residents quickly rushed Girish to a hospital in Arsikere. Due to the gravity of his injuries, he was then transferred to a hospital in Hassan, and subsequently to a specialized facility in Bengaluru, where he ultimately passed away.
Following a complaint lodged by Girish’s wife, Latha, the Arsikere rural police have registered a case and are now actively searching for Ramesh, who is currently absconding.
