Two prominent Congress MLCs, Balmoor Venkat and Addanki Dayakar, have formally complained to the Jubilee Hills constituency’s Returning Officer. Their grievance centers on certain television channels allegedly breaching the Model Code of Conduct by airing unauthorized election surveys.
According to their complaint, an individual associated with a polling agency was actively disseminating a pre-poll opinion survey specifically concerning Jubilee Hills. The MLCs assert that this video content is deceptive and directly contravenes the strict guidelines set by the Election Commission of India (ECI), which explicitly forbid the broadcast or publication of both pre-poll and exit polls during an active election cycle.
The politicians emphasized that such potentially manipulative content could improperly sway voter perceptions, risk inciting public discord, and even lead to civil unrest. They are calling for swift and decisive legal action against all parties responsible for creating and distributing this controversial survey.
