The highly anticipated film ‘Ikkis,’ starring Agastya Nanda, is officially slated for a grand theatrical release on December 25th, as announced by the filmmakers this Monday. This exciting project comes from Dinesh Vijan’s acclaimed production house, Maddock Films, and is helmed by the brilliant director Sriram Raghavan.
The screenplay was crafted by a talented team, including Raghavan himself, Arijit Biswas, and Pooja Ladha Surti. The announcement was prominently featured on social media, showcasing the film’s striking poster alongside the confirmed release date.
This role marks a significant step for Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut in 2023 with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies.’ That Netflix series was an Indian adaptation of the beloved American comic book, where Nanda starred alongside talents like Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Mihir Ahuja.
In ‘Ikkis,’ the 24-year-old actor takes on the challenging and pivotal role of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Khetarpal was a valiant soldier who, at just 21 years old, was martyred during the intense Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. His extraordinary courage and ultimate sacrifice earned him the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, making him the youngest individual to receive India’s highest military honor at that time.
Joining Nanda in this powerful narrative are veteran actor Dharmendra, along with talented performers Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher, completing the film’s impressive ensemble cast.
