On his 60th birthday, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, affectionately known as SRK, celebrated with his fans and shared some personal insights into his life and his children’s burgeoning careers. While he couldn’t wave to his fans from Mannat due to safety concerns, the superstar hosted a grand fan meet-and-greet in Mumbai, marking a memorable occasion.
During the event, SRK spoke candidly about his upcoming film ‘King’, his recent National Award win, and more importantly, his children, Aryan and Suhana Khan, both of whom have now entered the Hindi film industry. Suhana made her acting debut with ‘The Archies’ in 2023, and Aryan recently stepped into directing with ‘The Baadshahs of Bollywood’.

When asked about the career advice he offers his children, Shah Rukh revealed his distinctive philosophy. “I don’t tell them much because I think there is not much need to tell anything to creative people,” he shared. SRK elaborated that he doesn’t want his children to feel the pressure of his massive legacy, saying, “I know I come with a big baggage. ‘Arre yaar, papa ki to sunni padegi kyunki woh Shah Rukh Khan hain’. I don’t want them to have that baggage.”
He continued, “With Suhana in acting and Aryan in writing and direction, they do it themselves. And when they need, they ask me how something is looking. And I tell them a point of view. Sometimes it’s good and sometimes bad. But I tell them, ‘Tum wohi karo jo tumhe karna hai’ (Do whatever you want to do).” This simple yet profound advice underscores his belief in empowering his children to forge their own paths.
SRK also touched upon Aryan’s initial hesitation before his directorial debut, admitting that Aryan was unsure about his ability to direct and even considered hiring someone else. “But I feel that those who write and then direct themselves become better directors in a sense,” SRK stated, encouraging his son to “follow his heart and direct it.”
Fans are eagerly anticipating SRK’s appearance in Siddharth Anand’s ‘King’, slated for release next year, which also features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rani Mukerji.
