Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, proudly announced on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, that the state government would honor and award cash prizes to three of its brilliant women cricketers: Jemimah Rodrigues, Smriti Mandhana, and Radha Yadav.
“These three exceptional athletes are from Maharashtra,” stated Mr. Fadnavis. “We plan to extend our felicitations to the entire Indian women’s cricket team when they visit Mumbai. Our Cabinet has today unanimously passed a resolution celebrating the Indian Women’s Cricket team’s remarkable achievement.”
The announcement comes shortly after the Indian women’s cricket team made history on November 2, 2025, securing their first-ever World Cup title by triumphing over South Africa in a thrilling final held in Navi Mumbai.
