Madikeri MLA Mantar Gowda has allocated a generous grant of ₹3 lakh from his Local Area Development Fund. This funding is specifically earmarked for the beautification and improvement of the statue dedicated to Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, India’s first Commander-in-Chief, and the public park that surrounds it in Madikeri.
The decision came after Tennira Maina, District President of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Organisation, and Mandira Sada Muddappa, a nominated member of the Madikeri City Municipal Council, presented a detailed proposal for the planned development during their visit to Madikeri on Tuesday. Dr. Gowda promptly approved their request.
During the announcement, Dr. Gowda emphasized the immense contributions of Field Marshal Cariappa and General K.S. Thimayya as extraordinary military leaders. He stated that it is a collective responsibility for all Indians to honor their legacy and service to the nation.
Furthermore, the MLA pledged his unwavering support for future programs and initiatives aimed at celebrating these revered figures.
