The Kalpathy chapter of the Kerala Brahmana Sabha (KBS) hosted a meaningful ceremony on Sunday, dedicated to awarding educational scholarships. Karimpuzha Raman, the former State president of KBS, inaugurated the event, which saw the distribution of aid under the prestigious K.S.V. Subramaniam and P.S. Subbalakshmi endowments. A total of ₹3 lakh was graciously awarded to 60 bright students from various Brahmin communities (agraharas) throughout the district, providing crucial financial assistance for their academic pursuits.
The esteemed veteran leader of the KBS, P.A. Kashi Viswanathan, presided over the function. The gathering also heard addresses from several key figures, including KBS district secretary R. Venkitachalam, treasurer K.V. Krishnamani, Kalpathy sub-unit secretary T. Santhana Gopalakrishnan, treasurer Natarajan, A.G.V. Sarma, New Kalpathy Gramajana Samooham president K.S. Krishna, and KBS Kalpathy unit women’s wing secretary R. Lalita and S. Syamala. This initiative is a testament to the Kerala Brahmana Sabha’s ongoing dedication to nurturing talent and ensuring educational opportunities within the community.
