Mandya district’s in-charge Minister, N. Cheluvarayaswamy, recently highlighted that the State government’s five pioneering guarantee schemes are meticulously crafted to uplift and benefit every community.
During the inauguration of a workshop and review meeting for these schemes in Mandya, the Minister emphasized that these programs were launched with the primary goal of enhancing the quality of life for the underprivileged.
He further noted that the very foundation of these guarantee schemes emerged from Rahul Gandhi’s vision and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s profound commitment to the welfare of the poor.
Addressing critics who claim that these welfare initiatives have sidelined other developmental projects, Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy asserted that the state maintains its unwavering focus on holistic development. He pointed out that, uniquely in recent memory, each MLA has received a discretionary grant of ₹50 crore for development at the taluk level. Significant funding has also been allocated for the advancement of the MySugar factory and the Agriculture University in Mandya.
The Minister proudly declared that Karnataka’s five-guarantee model is now inspiring other states, positioning Karnataka as a national leader in per capita income. He firmly pledged the government’s commitment to continuing these schemes for the next five years, assuring that they would not deviate from their promise.
H.M. Revanna, Chairman of the Karnataka State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, remarked that these five initiatives represent a landmark achievement in the state’s welfare journey. He commended officials for their instrumental role in ensuring that the benefits reach all deserving individuals.
Revanna encouraged beneficiaries to contact the Implementation Authority with any concerns, assuring them that issues like IT and GST mismatches impacting Gruha Lakshmi payments would be swiftly addressed.
MLC Dinesh Gooli Gowda, the authority’s vice-chairman, highlighted that a significant four out of the five guarantee schemes are specifically designed to benefit women, urging them to advocate for the continuation of these vital programs.
The event also featured a documentary showcasing the guarantee schemes. A notable moment was the felicitation of Vijayalakshmi from Srirangapatna taluk, who demonstrated remarkable community spirit by utilizing her Gruha Lakshmi funds to install drinking water facilities at a local government school.
Among the dignitaries present were MLAs Ravikumar and K.M. Uday, MySugar chairman C.D. Gangadhar, Deputy Commissioner Kumar, ZP CEO K.R. Nandini, SP Mallikarjun Baladandi, and many other key officials.
